Actually 2.4Ghz is a trade off from what I understand, it's the point that is acceptable levels of absorption and by brute forces (most microwave ovens aren't measured in milliwatts lets face it), 22Ghz is much more effecient to heat water, but who really wants raw/cold on the middle food... going to lower freq's you need a lot more energy to heat things in the same way... If it sunk in correctly the way a microwave oven works is by twisting the water bonds, generating heat, again by brute force... something a 30mW device isn't capable of, if on the other hand you use amps, large antenna etc... well then your on your own... and as for blue tooth, a whole 10mW, compared to an average mobile phone of 600mW... indeed... recommendations by our version of the FCC recommend no contact with the skin and 1cm for blue tooth and 10cm for 30mW, wonder how far 600mW is considered safe... In all seriousness we have been bombarded by natural and unnatural background radiation all our lives...
