To clarify, 802.16 is not WiMAX, 802.16a is WiMAX and again, no fully
compliant silicon exists today despite press releases to the contrary.

The range of course depends on the band in use.  If we get access to the
superb 700MHz band then the skies the limit, but for now the WiMAX Forum are
focusing on global usage of the 2.5GHz and the 3.5Ghz bands, though 5.8Ghz
equipment will be in use stateside next year.
