I'd suggest using standoffs (also made with threaded pipe) to mount the main vertical pipe away from the wall by, say, 12" to 18". Then install three stranded steel with cables along the length of the pipe, a three-way spreader somewhere near the center of the pipe, and solid anchors at both the top and bottom. At the bottom, install turnbuckes at the end of each stranded cable. Tighten as needed - you're done.
