How about the other wall? If you have to, go up 5 feet, so people can walk under, then brace at 7 or 8 feet. It would be even stronger if you could run a 45 gusset from the cross piece to your rail on the other side. And just like in the first photo I would run a second set of braces higher from one upright over.
