I chose to trust Chris's word that Lifeline is real. I also figure since they have (had) a functioning operation in Haiti, they would have relationship and local understanding to get to work ASAP.
But I encourage all to make their own choices, just give. Wish I could give blood, but I am prohibited because I served in the Army in Germany in the mid-80's, so due to fears of mad cow (they don't know how long gestation may be) I still can't give. Seems crazy. That prohibition removes approximately 3% of the prospective donor population according to the blood bank worker I spoke with last month.
