For those of you who are purchasing circuits from AT&T, you should consider joining FISPA, and getting AT&T discounted pricing thru the FISPA contracts.
Most of AT&T products priced thru FISPA are at some of the steepest discounts (especially in the old BellSouth Territories). Additionally, if you are paying in the range of $1500 to $3000, then it would also be worth-while to consider purchasing a 'Gig E' transport to a Carrier Neutral Faclility ( eg. 56 Marrietta in ATL, or Dallas, or VA etc), and then picking up Bandwidth of your choice either directly or in-directly) In some cases $ wise you may end up in the same, but value and quality of connectivity wise you will come out ahead. In such colo facilities, you can get as low as, Cogent @ $3/meg, Hurricane Electric $1.5/meg, even folks like Savvis / Level 3 / GlobalCrosssing, in range of $3 to $9/meg. If you combine your purchase with another for a larger commit.. then the prices can get even more interesting.
