Couple of ideas... Do you have a current Emergency Repair Disk?
Have you tried going back to the last good configuration (F8 during bootup gives you choices like Safe Mode, Last Known Good Configuration, etc. This has saved me a few times, but you may have negated this option already. Worth a try. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]]On Behalf Of Dan Stein Sent: Monday, July 08, 2002 10:14 AM To: Multiple recipients of list witango-talk Subject: Witango-Talk: [OT] Windows 2000 server driver problem. I installed a Microsoft compatibility update and Easy CD creator Platinum on my Machine. Afterwards my CD drives would not show up. After removing the update and the software the troubleshooter tells me I have a corrupt registry files. So I uninstall both my CD drives and then plug and play reinstalls but the same problem occurs. I can see that the folder in the registry does not look right. The name instead of some combination of characters then name of drive then long line and some character with word bad in it just has name of drive and line with BAD in it. This is running server so I can't just run Norton on the machine. I really would not want to reinstall the OS I use this machine for development and I am in the middle of a project. Any suggestions. Seems like whatever is being installed by the plug and pray software is corrupted any tools that might fix this? -- Dan Stein 215-799-0192 Fax 413-410-9682 [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.dss-db.com -- Dan Stein Digital Software Solutions 799 Evergreen Circle Telford PA 18969 Land: 215-799-0192 Mobile: 610-256-2843 Fax 413-410-9682 FMP, WiTango, EDI,SQL 2000 [EMAIL PROTECTED] www.dss-db.com ________________________________________________________________________ TO UNSUBSCRIBE: send a plain text/US ASCII email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe witango-talk in the message body ________________________________________________________________________ TO UNSUBSCRIBE: send a plain text/US ASCII email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with unsubscribe witango-talk in the message body
