Have you tried going to the device manager, clicking on the offending drive, then on its properties and the Driver tab... Will it let you reinstall the driver? If you can get there, point it to your drivers using the "Have Disk" button...

I downloaded Resplendent registry which allows me to do that and tried double clicking on the saved registry files which it then says have been added bit they are no added.
