Have you tried going to the device manager, clicking on the offending drive,
then on its properties and the Driver tab...  Will it let you reinstall the
driver?  If you can get there, point it to your drivers using the "Have
Disk" button...

I booted from the CD and ran the repair but the drivers installed by Windows
2000 still results in a corrupt registry.

I wish there was some way to install drivers directly from say a floppy that
I made from The CD when I booted into Windows 2000. Or even to copy the
registry for the CD's from my drive with Windows 2000 professional on it.

I downloaded Resplendent registry which allows me to do that and tried
double clicking on the saved registry files which it then says have been
added bit they are no added. Maybe I'm doing something wrong in the export?
