Hang on - if your nav is *below* the content, wouldn't the link be
better as 'skip to navigation'?


I think in this case it would be a good idea to have both links, e.g.
something like:

<div class="skip">
<a href="#content">Skip to content</a> | <a href="#navigation">Skip
to navigation</a>
</div>

Hiding the links as suggested via positioning.
