Hi Bill

Will this prevent us from typing in @ nnnn to generate single tone
"messages"?

Subject: [wsjt-devel] WSJT-X: Valid message characters

Hi All,

the JT mode messages have a limited character set which we enforce in
the line edits where messages can be entered or amended.

Igor UA3DJY has pointed out that if an '@' character is at position 1 in
a message it will be interpreted as a short code message and generate a
fixed tone transmission (applies to JT65, JT9 and JT4).

To stop this happening accidentally I propose to change the input
validation such that an '@' character is not allowed in position 1. This
is not foolproof as the input logic can be defeated is some rare edge
cases but it will make it very unlikely to happen accidentally.

Any objections to this?
