Many people nowadays use remote stations. Devices that are largely used
are the Remoterig modems
http://www.remoterig.com/wp/?page_id=20oterig.com/wp/?page_id=20
Here is the story: Remoterig has a special COM port called COM3, COMExtra
or COMFSK. To be compliant to MMTTY SW, the firmware activates PTT line
for the radio when RTS “*and*” DTR are HIGH. Both lines must be HIGH.
People as myself want to use this COM port to engage PTT for WSJT as well. But
WSJT can’t be set to rise DTR and RTS simultaneously.
=> The request is to allow the user to check RTS-DTR boxes individually,
as is done today, or both of them. If checked individually, only the
checked line will rise. If both boxes are checked, the two lines will go
HIGH, thus assuring compatibility with Remoterig in this aspect.
BTW in Remoterig Forum there are inputs about this matter, so it is an
issue that interests a great deal of people.
Thanks for your time.
