All,
I operate on 60m with the FTDX3000 often enough (over 120 FT8 Qs, over 140 Qs
overall) The FTDX3000 uses memory channels for 60m operation, so you need to
shut off all rig control when operating on 60m. I now do this through a
separate configuration. I usually do the following:
   - Set WSJT-X Frequency (drop-down box) to 60m Receive Frequency (5.357)
   - Shutoff rig control (Set rig to None in Radio tab) - I have save this as a
configuration

   - Enable Memory mode (V/M button)
   - Set memory channel to 5M-03 (60m Channel 3 for SSB)
   - Tune rig if required

   - Operate with Hold Tx Freq enabled or adjust output levels as you change
audio frequencies. (I prefer operating around the 1500 Hz audio frequency)

When done operating 60m, you basically reverse the procedure, except you need
to reconfigure the Handshake parameters if they don't setup correctly. This
issue is eliminated by using a different configuration for normal operation.
The resume non-60m operation is:
   - Disable Memory mode (V/M button)
   - Turn on rig control (Set rig to FTDX5000 and fix Handshake parameters in
Radio tab - Hit Test CAT) - I use a separate configuration for this.
   - Change WSJT-X Frequency (drop-down box) to any band other than 60m.
   - Tune if required.
   - Operate as normal (using Rig Split operation)
In addition to the over 140 60m Qs with the FTDX3000, I also have over 200 Qs
on 60m using a FT-950 via the memory channels without using configurations in
the years prior to FT8.

Hope this helps.
