I sincerely doubt the "beneficial" -- without testing it doesn't make sense.
The 30dB level is as recommended in the Help and is the level needed to
overcome quantization errors. 30dB leaves some 60dB of head room for strong
signals (so AGC isn't needed which can squash weak signals).
Anything above 30dB is a waste based on all prior testing done by the WSJT-X
team.
