Hi All The defaults seem fine to me - can’t speak for a new ‘US’ mode that just does the grid.
It is a real PITA when people don’t send grid in the CQ - in many cases the grid in QRZ is just wrong - user changed location but forgot to update on-line sources. IT also affects the alerting on new grids - if no grid sent I don’t always get an alert. I have no idea how many people use WSJT-X - I am pretty sure the developers won’t want to change a default - will cause no end of support questions, documentation needing updated and there are a pile of other things higher on to-do-list. I always have a wee chuckle when couple of users out of xxx thousand think the developers have nothing better to do but change THE DEFAULTS to suit. Yes I could see a new CM appearing to suit xx hundred users but not the default. Nothing against the developers - take a look at how long it has taken to get reports ‘fixed’ so in CM they don’t change. 2 - 3 years ?. <sarcastic mode on> Ohh people are not sending grids - you really must alter things and disable the option to limit this. Really affects my day to day operation esp grid chasing</mode off> Sorry guys (and girls) being realistic the chances of the developers changing something as long standing as grid/report is so small it’s not worth computing. Have fun and enjoy chasing grids Tom GM8MJV > On 2 Aug 2021, at 21:07, Jeff Stai via wsjt-devel > <wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> wrote: > > To save those 30 seconds, I've lately set my software to do signal report > only when responding to a CQ on 6 meters, and I have noticed others doing > that as well, especially JAs.
