Lance, Thanks – but the issue is that the operation and displayed results – changed! It first was showing, on the Echo graph centered (0). And at the same time it showed on the wide graph as the echo was where it should be – i.e. 1596Hz for a 96Hz echo doppler shift. And it decoded a signal with a level provided (-14.6, twice, w/ a Q of 10!).
But then later – w/o changing anything other than time (i.e. later)… the echo showed on the Echo graph at -93 Hz (now the expected echo was 93 Hz)… the wide graph showed it just above 1500Hz and although there was clearly an echo – the tabulated results remained at a level of -99.9! This is all clear in the screen shot if anyone wants to see it. After reading the doc I did see that it was set to “on own echo”. I changed that to “none” and now it seems to work as expected – the echo is now at 1576Hz on the wide graph and is at +76Hz on the Echo graph – and it gave a proper numeric value (this time -20.3). So again – its that it changed and when it changed it was no longer functional as, even though the echo was clearly there, the value for SNR was ‘stuck’ at -99.9. The program knows where it is transmitting, so knows where to listen for the signal. I don't think you need to pay any attention to what is shown on the Wide Graph...GL and VY 73, Lance On 2/22/2023 16:13:35, K9RX via wsjt-devel wrote: > > Thank you – I’ll look this over to see if it addresses the echo appearing > differently in both the wide and echo graph. > > Gary > > Sent from Mail <https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=550986> for Windows > > *From: *Charles Suckling via wsjt-devel > <mailto:wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> > *Sent: *Wednesday, February 22, 2023 10:53 AM > *To: *WSJT software development <mailto:wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> > *Cc: *Charles Suckling <mailto:g3w...@gmail.com> > *Subject: *Re: [wsjt-devel] Possible issue with ECHO mode - 2.6.0 > > Hi Gary > > Have a look at these, which will hopefully help. > > https://wsjt.sourceforge.io/Echo_Mode_in_WSJT-X_2.6.0.pdf > > http://www.bobatkins.com/radio/EME_WSJTX_echo_mode_basic_guide.html > > 73 > > Charlie DL3WDG > > On Wed, 22 Feb 2023 at 16:37, K9RX via wsjt-devel > <wsjt-devel@lists.sourceforge.net> wrote: > > I like to use ECHO to test the station on 6M EME. > > But the latest version has changed enough I was wondering if there was a > short > help file for it? > > Also: The Echo graph will at times show the echo centered – and other > times > show it offset.
