Hi Glenn,
When shifting the focus to a particular object on the screen, that object will
then receive any inadvertent mouse operation such as done by the wheel or
button. An inadvertent press on the space bar or the Enter key would simply stop
the TX. Rolling the mouse wheel would have no effect. To change the band
and/orfrequency you will be forced to move the focus to that screen object. Now
it is no longer an inadvertent action but an intentional one.  Moving the mouse
itself can shift the focus but it would have to land and end on a particular
object.
As far as operating wsjt-x while actually moving/driving, I can only ask Why?
you are not only endangering yourself but others as well.
If you are visually impaired or blind that is a whole other story and its one
that I actually became involved in. If you care to, you can read about it on my
QRZ page.
73,
Sam W2JDB

 Fellow operators,

For those of us who have or will have Essential Tremor we might be
sliding the mouse too far to the left. (At least I don't have a serious
tremor yet.)  So how is moving the focus going to prevent accidents?

Also there could be someone operating /M (not driving) while acting as a
rover in a QSO party and is being jerked around by a pothole and bumps
the mouse.  Or someone with serious vision problems.
