Hint to Flex users...
   To make life easier in the future.. Set a DHCP ip address reservation for your radio in your LAN router.    Otherwise, the next time you boot up the radio, the DHCP may assign a different ip address and you'll forever be updating the address in WSJT..

Maybe I can make the error message a bit better -- yes -- you do need the radio's IP address....

Do you mean it doesn't work if you append the port 4992 too?

When I installed the new rc5 software last night I tried the 6000 Slice A.  Based on the message i received I entered just the IP address of my radio no port (looks like it was appending port 4992) and it seemed to work from there.

    Hello Mike-

    Good to know there are settings for SSDR, is there a tutorial on
    how to use these new settings.
    Could not find anything in the Ver 2.7 User Guide.

    Thanks;

        What software are you using for the Flex?

        This was made for the current version of SmartSDR.

        Mike,
           It fails with the same error message if "Network Server" is
        blank.
        Localhost (127.0.0.1) is not a valid ip address for a radio
        and port 4992 is not serviced by either SSDR or SSDR CAT on
        the PC.
           Radio ip address:4992 or radiohostname:4992 does work.
