Ahh, I see. What about ctwm?

Just as a bit more information, I just did a quick test to show exactly
what I see when trying to open anything other than an xterm (rxvt doesn't
work, either, just FYI---xpat2 is an alias for a solitaire card game I
like, and the real game app is an X11 app):

==================================================================

(16:44) % xpat2
Error: Can't open display:
/private/tmp/com.apple.launchd.7DRbXtMp6A/org.macosforge.xquartz:0
zsh: exit 1 /opt/local/bin/xpat2 -rules "Midnight Oil"
(16:44) % echo $DISPLAY
/private/tmp/com.apple.launchd.7DRbXtMp6A/org.macosforge.xquartz:0
(16:45) % export DISPLAY
(16:45) % xpat2 -display $DISPLAY
Error: Can't open display:
/private/tmp/com.apple.launchd.7DRbXtMp6A/org.macosforge.xquartz:0
zsh: exit 1 /opt/local/bin/xpat2 -rules "Midnight Oil" -display $
(16:45) %

=================================================================

That's what I'm hoping to never see again....

Thanks,
