Hi everyone, the days of using our broken terrain generator are finally over! We have created a set of pregenerated maps for almost all the important gliding areas. The maps are based on the LK8000 maps and therefore use the same topology, that is taken from the the OpenStreetMap project (http://www.openstreetmap.org). You can download the maps from the following webpage:
http://www.xcsoar.org/download/maps/ Here is a short feature list of our map files: - Use of GeoJP2 format for terrain information -> much faster then plain DEM - Use of OpenStreetMap data for topology information -> more accurate highways, rivers, cities, ... -> Correct city names (compared to vmap0, which we used before) -> Basic population-based drawing priority for city names Have fun with the maps!
