Hi Scott,

yes, a ticket is sure the best way to track ideas, though I believe discussing
before opening a ticket might help a lot narrowing in on the features required.

BTW.: Talking features, and regarding the target group, I would conform to
Helmut, who proposed no extra button was required. This would mean creating a
default state in which the application was usable for any unexperienced user
and a no-hassle setup for anybody just flying around with no task in mind at
the time.

This could be done by either automatically setting the takeoff location as the
final and only waypoint as long as no task was set, or by making an info box
available that automatically displayed the relevant info for the position a
take off was detected at. Experienced XC pilots could then just select a
different, more sophisticated looking box, and thus eliminate this 'beginner's
feature' if they find it too embarrassing ... ;O).

I am one of the 'intermediate' pilots who would probably just set it and leave
it there, needed or not, because I do not like to fiddle with the interface all
the time, and I usually only ever use the 5 box setup anyway. Don't need to
know much more than that, and focus on flying.
