I think you are correct RE shiny screens, then again they could hardly claim
'sunlight readable' if it only worked when the sunlight is at specific
angles, only testing will tell. Hopefully someone produces a matte film that
works without reducing brightness too much. I'd be very intrested to see a
video of the pixelqi version running XCSoar in the sun.
RE the 7 inch pixelqi screens, they seem to be pretty much a certainty. See:

I've seen some youtube videos taken in January at CES 2011 of the prototype
7 inch versions, which would indicate they probably aren't vaporware.
Because the Adam's have host USB ports, which i've read support USB
keyboards, it should be pretty straight forward to remove the controller out
of a USB Keyboard (they are pretty small) and wire up a few buttons on the
top of the control stick to control a panel mounted tablet. I removed the
controller from an old HP keyboard an hour or so ago, and it's really very
straight forward, just trial and error bridging the pins figuring out what
combo's result in what keystrokes.
