Apparently I have not that much insight into the EW product line, sorry.
But I suppose having XCSoar feed the GPS data to any logger would
technically not be able to get FAI approval. There is simply no seal and
XCSoar or any other application could easily feed simulated data of a
flight that you didn't actually do.

any FAI-approved logger is okay for such a claim. It doesn't
matter if you use XCSoar connected to it or not, the EW logger
should be approved independent of that. The XCSoar software
itself however is not. XCSoar writes IGC files, but they are
