Short answer: yes and no.

Yes

If you use the logger just as a barograph, fly to a different club, land
and get a member to sign a landing certificate that will be fine: the
logger trace shows you didn't land anywhere and the take-off and landing
declarations are proof that you flew more than 50 km.

The EW website says: "IGC approved flight recorder for badge claims up
to Diamond C when used with Garmin GPS12, 12 XL, 12CX , 48, 80-Mil, 89,
90 and 95, 55 software versions 1.12 or later, GPS II, II plus, III,
III pilot, IIIPlus , 92, GPSCOM 190, GPSMAP 195 and 295."

...and do remember that it must be installed in such a way that you
can't remove it from the glider without disconnecting the cable between
the GPS and the EW.

This list of approved GPS receivers applies to EW model B and D loggers
and probably applies to the model A as well, but a quick search didn't
find a list of approved GPS receivers for it. The cable routing
requirement applies to all three models.
