if I could contribute to this discussion, I would like to say, that I'm really
(REALLY) happy with this detailed maps which are available now - sice almost
every (even very old) PDA/PNA/Android Phone has a big SD card I don't even
care, if the map file has 5 MB or 50 MB or even 500 MB. I'm happy that I can
utilize high resolution terrain map and also precise topology map.
So this is just my 2 cents...
Everybody should get his own 2 cents. Yes, agree, it's good we have
very detailed maps, and what I want is to give everybody a choice.
There are good pros and cons.
Some PPC2000 users with 10 year old hardware may be happy to save some
memory for not loading topography data which they cannot see properly
on their low-res screens anyway.
exactly, Max :-)
owning an old PPC2000 Asus and several IPAQ 38xx in our club, we need
to save every byte and CPU power we're possible to ...

I agree with Max and Claus. To have the choice would leave everyone happy.
The situation in my club is similar to Claus' Club. And since the club
gliders have built in mounts for the old devices we will stick to them.
They are not state of the art but sufficient for what they're for...
and by the way they "generate" new XCS users... ;-)
Thanks to you developers for not forgetting the users of the old devices! =)
