The FAI sporting code disallows GSM networking, too.  An example of
archaic outdated rules that have no use in modern times like this. I
hope all of these get revised, or the "information age" will
officially be postponed (and everybody ignores the ban anyway, just
official contests can't use it).

Satellite modems may work.  Due to the lean protocol, SkyLines costs
less than other tracking solutions.  Choose a tracking interval that
has the best usefulness/price ratio.

I just think that any means of wireless communication (except for the
normal VHF radio) is forbidden.  Is there even an exception for FLARM?
