OS: Debian unstable Area: Xserver Server: XFree86 (The XFree86 4.x server) Video Card: MGA G550 AGP (rev 1) Description: See http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=175911 (yes, I'm being lazy. :) In short: with the mga driver, as supplied by the Debian project, my monitor complains about the horizontal sync being outside its range, despite having included the monitor's specifications in the XF86Config file. If I download and install the mga_hal driver from Matrox, everything works as it should. The modeline that is selected for display is identical in both cases. I'm willing to go to a fair amount of effort to aid in tracking down this problem.
