I'd say, stay active and commit it to scratchpad. To be fully featured,
we need the option of metadata. The binary patch I just committed put a
simple 'inline' metadata in, so xindice can handle binaries.

I guess what I'm saying is, I want it, and I want to see how to
integrate it, immediately after we release 1.1.

Gianugo et al,

Sorry to pipe up at this moment, but perhaps it's as good a time as
any.

Given that I've been completely absorbed by my own project, and that
my main intention in becoming a committer was to work on the XNode
stuff, do you wish me to remove myself from the committers list? I
actually now do have CVS access, which previously I didn't (because
of firewall restrictions), but I've hesitated to add the XNode stuff
because (a) I didn't want to slow anything down, (b) neither Tom nor
Kimbro was sure *where* (i.e., what package location) XNode should go,
and (c) I'm not sure anyone but me and maybe some people at Sun
actually wants it. As I've said previously, it's fully functional as
an API and I use it pretty much daily, but that doesn't mean others
want it. (I'd be happy to point anyone at the API javadocs if
interested)

Let me know what you want me to do. I'd have like to added XNode to
the tree, but absent decisions on (b) I don't really know how to
proceed. Currently, in my code I have it at org.apache.xnode.*, since
it's not necessarily limited to use with Xindice, but I'm flexible.
