I remember this topic too. The only thing I thought strange at the time, and still do, is that many users of 1.21 are not affected by this problem at all (myself being an example), and so there must be something related in the systems of those who do have the problem. I am not saying any of these things are the cause (I have no idea) but I remember thinking that many (all?) were running Windows Systems and that many were coming from outside the U.S.. Perhaps the problem is with the Windows binary, or the way it interacts with Microsoft DNS? Maybe there is something else related? It seems to me it might be helpful if people with this problem published relevant system data so that we can see what the commonalities are to isolate the problem... just a thought.
