Hello Rick!

You may want to take a look at the Softshare Delta Enterprise mapper that
can map to and from EDI and XML. It performs complete compliance checking
on all EDI created.

With respect to your second question relating to Java interfaces, we offer a
product called Softshare ECS (Electronic Commerce Server) that works in
conjunction with Delta. How ECS and Delta interact depends upon what you
want to do:

1) If you have a Java program that we can run as an external
command, then it is no problem using ECS.
2) If you have a Java program that can scan a directory to look for a file,
then
that will work since we can have Delta dump the XML to a file.
3) If you have a Java program that can receive using some internet protocol
like
FTP of SMTP or whatever, then there is no problem (since you can
        use ECS to drive Delta).
4) If you want to use COM with Java, you can have the Java program
drive Delta using Delta's COM interfaces.

Subject: Tools to move EDI documents to XML Format

1) What tools have you seen that facilitates changing an EDI document into
an XML document. (and inversely, XML to EDI.)
2) What tools have you seen that continue that process and send the XML
document to Java to be worked on.

We have looked at OnDisplay/Vignette and others, but one of the problems is
that there is no EDI validation/error checking in these tools. I was
wondering if EDI Vendors have come up with some solutions. I would like to
find an 'integrated' tool. I can always hobble together a group of tools,
but the probability of failures increase.(i.e. data going into the black
hole)

Thanks

Rick Tucker
