I installed the new version alongside the old one in a separate folder (on
Windows 2000).

When I try to start the new app, I get an "unable to launch Java app"
message.

Do I have to uninstall the old version?

Regards

Kevin Flynn

===============================
V2.0 Beta 1 (September 3, 2002)

Initial release of the product.

--------------------------------
Important note for XXE M1 users:
--------------------------------

XXE V2 will of course load XML files created using
the M1 prototype. But if you want to make your XML
documents cleaner, more transportable and take
advantage of new features such a accurate styling
of XHTML and DocBook tables, please do the
following:

1. Remove <?xml-stylesheet?> processing
   instruction from your XHTML, DocBook,
   Simplified DocBook and Slides documents. With
   new mechanism of configuration, XXE V2 will
   automatically associate CSS style sheets to
   these types of documents.

2. Replace the system ID (URL) of the DTD of your
   XHTML, DocBook, Simplified DocBook and Slides
   documents from local locations to standard
   global locations.

----------+-------------------
Public ID | Standard System Id
----------+-------------------
-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN
http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd
------------------------------
-//OASIS//DTD DocBook XML V4.1.2//EN
http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/4.0/docbookx.dtd
------------------------------
-//OASIS//DTD Simplified DocBook XML V4.1.2.5//EN
http://www.oasis-open.org/docbook/xml/simple/4.1.2.5/sdocbook.dtd
------------------------------
-//Norman Walsh//DTD Slides XML V2.0//EN
http://docbook.sourceforge.net/release/slides/2.0/slides.dtd
------------------------------

With the new support of XML catalogs, XXE will use
a bundled local copy of the DTD instead of
fetching it from the specified system ID.

Example: Beginning of a XML document before the
modifications.

+-----------------------------------------------------+
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1'?>
<?xml-stylesheet type="text/css"
href="file:/home/hussein/src/xmledit/distrib/css/xhtml.css"
?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
"file:/home/hussein/src/xmledit/distrib/dtd/xhtml/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
+-----------------------------------------------------+

Beginning of a XML document after the
modifications.

+-----------------------------------------------------+
<?xml version='1.0' encoding='ISO-8859-1'?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd";>
