<< I envy you the time to do all handmade presents for Christmas. I am lucky
to
get one present done for the holidays. >>

Once upon a time, I used to do ALL handmade gifts, too. As the family
expanded through marriage and birth, I realized I couldn't do that any more.
So now, each kid gets a handknit sweater, and I select 3-4 people who are
going to get cross-stitch gifts (some years I can finish more than that, last
year didn't finish them all), and everyone else gets either baked goodies or
storebought. If it becomes apparent that someone's XS is not going to be
done in time, I always have storebought back-up ideas. Since I have gifts
for everyone in stash, if I'm done with all the XS early, I can easily grab a
gift for someone else and start stitching, and kick their storebought gift
over to birthday or next Christmas.
