Let's start here:

While compiling the end of the data in file 
/home/moy/emacs-lisp/xxtla/lisp/xtla-browse.el:
  ** The following functions are not known to be defined:
    tree-widget-toggle-folding, extents-at, extent-start-position,
    event-point, posn-set-point

But what xtla-browse needs is not just "try it out on different Emacs
version", but "Test it heavily on different Emacs versions" ;-)
