This is the message number in this group where a similar sounding problem was occurring. Msg # 3353 The difference with that user's problem, however, seems to be that it was always happening. My messenger starts off working fine and the problem appears with a widely variable time range, which leads me to believe it is something that Yahoo tried to fix but can still be exposed by a race condition (purse speculation of course). I might go as far as saying that this problem occured after a massive auto-update from Microsoft.
