Making changes that break builds for some portion of the community seems
unacceptable to me. This is poor Hadoop community etiquette. The correct
solution, in my opinion, would be to only do the additional build steps if an
additional flag is set. Don't break the way of building and then expect a lot
of people to go fix it.
