In his seminal address to the The Third All-Russia Congress of The Russian
Young Communist LeagueYouth leagues in 1920, Cde Lenin said:
"Communism will become an empty word, a mere signboard, and a Communist a mere
boaster, if all the knowledge he has acquired is not digested in his mind. You
should not merely assimilate this knowledge, but assimilate it critically, so
as not to cram your mind with useless lumber, but enrich it with all those
facts that are indispensable to the well-educated man of today. If a Communist
took it into his head to boast about his communism becaused of the
cut-and-dried conclusions he had acquired, without putting in a great deal of
serious and hard work and without understanding facts he should examine
critically, he would be a deplorable Communist indeed"
This text is more than relevant for me as a young women, striving very hard to
become a atrue communist.
But equally this call flew right into our face as young communist league for
keeping quite when ANCYL PRESIDENT Cde JULIAS MALEMA abuses evry public
platform to utter irresponsible statement that undermines the cardinal
principle of communism, respect for the elders irrespective of which side of
the political fence they resides.
Our silence comrades is an indictment on the cultural teachings that Cde Moses
Kotane so much loved.
My late Uncle Cde Uylyses Modise who had the opportunity to work closely with
Cde Moses Kotane told during the height of negotiations that Cde Moses Kotane
would every night engage them not to forget that before them there were many
people who stroded the path to freedom.
He told me that he will always remind them that our immediate weapon is to
respect the elders and to present a policy front not personal attacks on our
enemies.
Let me put it on record, I politcally despise SHIKOTAs and their illinformed
supporters.
Therefore,How do we explain the obsession the ANCYL has pathetically adopted of
bashing elders, during our door to door campaings to encourage people to vote
for the ANC?.
How do I convince my fellow girlfriends (first time voters) to vote for the ANC
when today (18 October 2008) NWC statement fails to speak against Cde
Julias political irresponsibility.
How do I encourage my younger sister to join the ANCYL under Cde Julias Malema
Presidency, when he only display high degree of disrepecting elders.
Maybe as true communist not mere boasters we should start to call for a serious
restrain on how he address the elders.
Maybe we should call for a more outspoken General Secretary in Cde Vuyiswa
Tulelo. Just like in the ANC and Alliance partners she should speak on behalve
of the ANCYL not even Cde Floyd
How about we as YCL members through this forum make a serious call for him Cde
Julias Malema to avoid attacking individuals and rather advance our Youth
policy pespective.
This Cdes should not restrict him from speaking bad about SHIKOTA the
formation, but he must instead attact the political prostitude ANELE MDA as his
peer.
Our society whether we like it or not is very sensitive especially we women to
war talks promoted by Cde Julias Malema. How in my elementary political
development do I make of a statement that declares Mankweng in Limpopo a 'No go
zone" for other political formation including Shikota.
In conclusion Comrade engage me, don't display your fixation with Cde Julias
Malema even when he is causing us great harm through his irresponsible
statement. His direct attack on Cde Dipuo Peters last week is real uncalled for
and really needs serious politcal reprimand from ANC.
I must state I don't have high political regard for Cde Dipuo Peters, because
he constantly defies the mandate of the ANC PEC in the Northern Cape Province.
