Some African male cdes (including some of our leaders) don’t seem to be having
a problem with wearing Gucci, Prada, Armani etc but they are the quickest to
harp on lousy debates such as hairstyles! Give our African sistas a break and
focus on the fundamental problem, capitalism.

The most important aspect of the African child that has been eroded is our
value system. As i said, happing on looks, is not the solution. But when do we
start saying that what you see in the media, is not necessarily how you should
look and speak like. When is the right moment for us, young people to take
stock of what have been exposed to and saying "this is not how we should
conduct ourselves".

For the developing mind is it then right to be exposed to the Bold and
Beautifull,Young and the Restless and other soapies? Are we not supposed to be
watching educational and cultural programs at such times? We always talk of the
developing the Youth but what we see are kids being sulked into what they
perceive as hip and all I'm saying is, It's high time we start plotting our
destiny by deciding ourselves what we should be exposed to in order to build a
focused future generation.

AFRIKAN AFFIRMATIONS
“If the renaissance we are talking about Afrika-wide is really a broad-sweeping
“movement” and not one of the hoaxes high-flight politics spin around the heads
of the working class and the poor, we must open up discussions all around, up
and down to decode the revival – spell it out.”
