I'm not sure what to make of this -- true, students have serious challenges
facing them and impending on objectives such as access to quality education
etc. That being said, none of it warrants an undisciplined and savaged
attack on the SACP's general secretary.

Cdes always make a mistake of confusing some journalists’ hypocrisy with
real interest to their issues. Some of these journalists’ only interest is
to sell papers -- therefore painting a picture of a general
secretary/minister under-siege by some left leaning student bodies sells
papers and is quite entertaining. And, unfortunately, this happens at the
detriment of the real message from the students! Cdes must avoid being
famous for wrong reasons during this time and allow themselves to be tricked
into saying regrettable statements. Statements such as “the minister is an
indecisive coward” and “This is the worst form of anti-communism and a crime
against the sons and daughters of the working class and is a betrayal to the
struggle” is very regrettable, not only that but populist in my view. When
the SACP allowed blade to serve his country as a cabinet minister -- we did
not also give him an ability to perform miracles.

Cdes seems to find throwing insults around especially targeting elected
leadership of our movement fashionable – it is not, but only entertaining to
the Capitalists! A free circus which is sickening to the working class that
voted our leadership in power.
