Cdes, i dont want to dwell much on who is right and who is wrong between Sasco and Cde Nzimande as Minister of Higher Education on the day of alleged heckling. Mine cdes is to raise basic principles of engagement especially in situations of Communists even if they engage on their capacities as leaders of other organisations or institutions. My questions or concerns are 1. did Sasco leadership make attempts to engage Cde Blade in a face to face situation before th public gathering? im not saying that gathering is not the right plartform to engage him but it is a plartform that anyone can abuse whether a Sasco or not Sasco member. 2. If Cde Blade showed no interest to engage Sasco, what other ways did Sasco do, for example they can even engage the SACP leadership if they feel that Cde Blade is arrogant to the extent of making himself equall to "Anti-Communism. I therefore suggest that Sasco leadership submitt the list of issues for discussion to other progressive structures especially the YCL SA and SACP fo political discussions that tend to transform and develop education for SA and not make these problems mere issues of the Minister and Sasco. Communist engage robustly rather than lambasting each other. Sasco leaders must engage every one in the Alliance if possible so that when they decide to call for Ministers head, they are not seen as attacking for the reason best known to them.
