Hello, hope this post is to the correct list and not to long. Been using yoper for nearly two years. Moved from 06 version to Blacksand 2.91. Really enjoy seing konqueror load instantly on my 800mhz box, many thanks to the developers!
Just finished doing a complete upgrade for the second time. Upgrade broke Smart and the kernal upgrade didn't complete properly. Kpackage still (from other versions) asks for a password even when running in root, but fails to accept it. Cups did not install correctly, sometimes the driver list disappears, and when you can choose a driver it complains that it can,t make the tempory printer. These messages appear: "Unable to change printer properties. Error received from manager: client-error-request-value-too-long" and "Unable to create tempory printer." After the error messages a tmp printer appears on the printer list along side the Canon. Here is the content of the printcap file in /etc/ < # This file was automatically generated by cupsd(8) from the # /etc/cups/printers.conf file. All changes to this file # will be lost. In bash typing smart --gui produces this error (last line only) >gobject.GError: Couldn't recognize the image file format for file '/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/smart/interfaces/images/smart.png'< The kernal problem was corrected by cleaning up lilo.conf. root = rootfs created a error and the drive wasn't specified. Hope I haven't wasted onebodys time! Could use some help with cups and installing my Canon printer. Allready contacted the turboprint people about the problem. They say that the errors I discribed only occur when cups is not installed right. Thanks agin and keepup the good work! Best reagrds!
