Finished the update and yes, my system was killed too. It seems that the
ftp-yoper tree (not the devel tree) also has the x86-64 packages instead
of the i686 packages. The result was a system that was able to boot, but
all fonts were crippled (only square boxes instead of letters) and I was
unable to log into the system.

If someone knows how to fix this, fine. if not, just let us know so we
can reinstall the system and break our boxes again. :)
