Hi Mark,

thanks for the very quick response!

2006/10/17, Mark <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>:
A very quick initial report from my test.
Running the 2.92 test in a VM, using the settings I described in the how-to I
wrote a few weeks ago. Basically, 368mb ram and virtual IDE disk.

On the agree/disagree section, I would change the wording to "I agree..."
rather than "I do agree..." The "I do not agree..." is fine by the way -
just that in English, I agree is more usual than I do agree ;)

You're very welcome to give me feedback on getting proper English into
the installer.

OK, so the basic setup seems to proceed OK - usual errors about powernow,
which I don't worry too much about, although I can list them if you like
Tobias!

List everything you find. Because when I idle I start checking out
buglist and start working things out. So even if some bug is not fixed
straight away it will get my attention.

Eventually, I get to the command line and run the script to start the
installer - which begins the CLI install. So far so good. But.... it then
fails to detect the virtual hdd :( Attempting to use setup afterwards from
the command line tells me "installcd is not properly running" . Not sure
exactly what the issue is as yet! BTW, that phrase is not good English -
maybe changing the words properly running around to read running properly
would be better, although the whole phrase is not very clear. Does it mean
the CD (virtual in my case) has an issue, or the drive is not working
or ....?

Will report further once I have fiddled a little more!
Should the cd actually be installable at the moment? Perhaps the failure to
detect the hdd is purely down to the detection not being enabled in the test
iso?

Over the weekend I repeatedly went over the installer to make it work
within the new structure. Which allows me to rebuild ISO's within
minutes. The installer did work very well for me. It is also very
unlikely that the installer does crash anything or does harm any
existing data. (No guarantee though) .

So actually I am in the need of some new impressions / ideas /
feedback to improve the installer.

What I had in mind to keep the pre-copy / pre-reboot sections as thin
and slim as possible to reboot ASAP into the graphical mode and
proceed with installation there.

Well, feel free to make suggestions.

regards
