I have noticed that something occasionally resets what I have defined as the default email address (for my contacts with more than one email address). It seems to happen about once a month so it's not frequent enough for me to nail down exactly what causes it to happen.
I am pretty sure that it's either a syncing issue with the Apple Address Book or something that happens if I rebuild my database.
