FWIW, I'm running v13 of Entourage and the updater 12.2.3 automatically updated Entourage to v13.0.3.

I suggest launching the MAU from Help in any Microsoft application. When it shows up in the Dock, select "keep in dock". Log out of your User. When you log in, hold down the Shift key to disable all startup items. Launch the MAU from the Dock, download and install the updater.
