Compacting is not advised unless you are really low on disk space and/or
removed several GB of data. Entourage will use the 'wasted space' and your
database will remain the same size as new emails are added.

If you have a folder named something like this:

 Main [Backed up 1-20-2010 13.35]

You might want to revert to your original Identity BEFORE it was compacted.
You would need to add the newer messages from your current Identity.

Normally, when you see this file it indicates the rebuild was not
successful. Usually that file is removed and the [Backed up 1-20-2010 13.35]
 folder is created. You might try reverting to the  Database (Rebuild) by
creating a new Identity folder and moving this file into the folder. Remove
(Rebuild) from the name.
