First I'm not discounting what you are saying, but this is the only case
that I have ever seen reported. It's appears to be something that is
specific to your computer. I have both versions still installed along with
many other users that want to keep 04 for VBA and no one else has reported
this behavior.


Have you deleted the older version?

1) Microsoft AutoUpdate.app
HD -> Applications ->  Microsoft AutoUpdate.app
