I am migrating to a new email provider (FastMail.fm). When Entourage 2008 synchs with their IMAP server, the folder list looks like this:
INBOX Drafts Sent Items Trash Junk Mail This seems a bit odd, but it is the standard configuration for FastMail. Note thet four of the folders are subfolders of INBOX. This creates a problem if I want to set the browser column headers differently for these folders. For example, I usually set the "From" and "Received" columns visible for Inbox and Junk Mail folders, and not visible for Sent Items and Drafts. What happens is that the subfolders take on the column settings that I apply to INBOX. I can change them, but they revert back to the INBOX configuration whenever I relaunch Entourage. Is this a feature or a bug? Is there any way around it? Is there any danger in changing the folder list arrangement manually in Entourage, and editing the links in Tools > Accounts > FastMail account > Advanced so that the IMAP server knows where to find them? I would probably change to a simple flat layout, similar what is used by my IMAP service at work. INBOX Drafts Sent Items Trash Junk Mail Is it a good idea to go offline while making changes like this? -- Julian Vrieslander <[email protected]> -- YouTalk mailing list List address: [email protected] List information: http://entourage.mvps.org/support_options/list.html List moderator: [email protected], [email protected] To unsubscribe: mailto:[email protected]?subject=unsubscribe
