I am trying out the IMAP system at FastMail.fm. In another thread I mentioned the odd arrangement of their IMAP folders. That's something I can live with. But there's a different issue that worries me a bit more.
I sent a couple of private messages via FastMail to a friend of mine (Roger Cohen, another active member of this list). His copy of Entourage 2008 detected my messages as junk. I resent the messages and they were again filed as junk. I am using a slightly complex setup, which employs virtual domains and aliases, so that the headers show my personal registered domain. But tech support at FastMail looked into this and saw nothing in the headers which should have triggered a junk filter. So I would like to try sending a test message to a few other Entourage users, to see if there is a pattern here - something about the FastMail system that triggers the Entourage junk filter. The tech guy at FastMail is interested in getting data on this, too. Any volunteers? In this test, I would just send a short email directly from my FastMail account to your personal email account. I would ask you to reply, telling me if the message was classified as junk, and if so, perhaps sending me a copy of the message headers. I promise not to send you any other messages, or to reveal your address to third parties. If anyone on this list is willing to help me on this, please reply off-list. You can use my crusty old account in the sig below, or my flashy new FastMail account at: [email protected] (I'm not yet using that address for this list) Thanks in advance. Of course, if I get bombed by hundreds of volunteers, I will not reply to everyone. -- Julian Vrieslander <[email protected]> -- YouTalk mailing list List address: [email protected] List information: http://entourage.mvps.org/support_options/list.html List moderator: [email protected], [email protected] To unsubscribe: mailto:[email protected]?subject=unsubscribe
