The (Holy) ghost in the machine, perhaps? I dunno about your description, tho. Isn't "to be filled" a bit different from 'empty'? Plus, when I hear those happy clappy born-agains say they're filled with the Holy Spirit, they seem quite a different animal from a Zen practioner sitting in shikantaza.
