Merle,

>Mike..i beg your pardon?.
 anti-Christ...what a quaint expression?
 how boring..think of something original

I do hope you do know I was talking about Thatcher!! And it's not "boring" -
it's accurate!

Mike (Yikes!)

Mel....I was not going to bother reading any more of your ravings...
 how old are you?
 are you male or female
or bisexual, or transexual or homosexual?
just curious
yes get back to your original mind
maybe you do need a slap with a stick on your wrist
time to take stock of what you think you might know
 start a fresh
 the journey has just begun
now that your eyes are opened
 you are free to be
 who you are
 without the constraints
 of past ideas
 understandings
 and longings
returning to the original mind finally
 wonderful
take it easy as you breathe
 cheers the "dear old lady..."
for christ' sake..what next are you's gunna call me?
i could think up some beauties myself to describe you's who travel with those
heavy napsacks on ya backs and call yourself zen fellas
 ho ho ho
 and ho hum yo that
 merle
 merle
Mel,

>are you telling me that you react to this dear old lady...

She's not a "dear old lady". In fact, she's not even human. She's the
Anti-Christ (See, I've been reading my Bible ; ) )

Mike

Ok, I may have been a bit harsh with Merle. Merle, if you're reading
this...well, I've gone over some of my words with you and perhaps I have made
an ass out of myself. Perhaps you've even reminded me of a past lesson related
to zazen. In zazen, we get taught that various thoughts come and go, and we
just let them pass...even if evangelism in any form as I see it happens to be
one of my personal demons. I shouldn't have reacted so quickly despite
whatever. My apologies

Mike, thanks for that, and for your patience online both here and at FB. But
Mikey....'dingdong the witch is dead??'....*gasp/laughter/grin*....are you
telling me that you react to this dear old lady the way a lot of Punjabis react
to Sonia Gandhi? It's ok folks, as Mike knows I'm a little bit cracked...*more
laughter*...cheers all!

Mel the purist

Mel,

That'd be me who was raised in an atheistic household. Actually, I wasn't
raised with any particular philosphy named 'atheisim' - it was just a general
apathy to things religious. I don't like the word 'atheist'. We don't have a
specific name for people who don't believe in astrology, so why have a name for
people who just don't see any evidence of a personal god. In the same way,
Christians (for example) are atheists in regard to Zeus or Appollo. I love
Merle's idea of being in nature as her church. I just take it one step back and
don't see the need to add anything to that walk in the forest. Was it Basho who
said, "No one walks this path this Autumn evening..."?

Mike

Ps, Don't mention Thatcher to me. I'm just waiting for that magic moment when I
can sing, "Ding Dong the witch is dead!" (My Loving-Kindness meditation is
still a work in progress..).
