Joe and Edgar,

"Zen Realization" (which I interpret as 'Buddha Nature') has nothing to do with 
'understanding' (rationality), and only involves 'knowing' if you mean that to 
be 'experience'.  But it is not 'knowing' as in 'understanding'.
